Written by Joe Wilke, now of Milwaukee's 3Pack, I had the chance to see this song written on a piece of scratch paper way before it was recorded. When Joe
first came to my house with it, he had an idea of how it would sound. But after hearing him sing it for me, I suggested he use a more laid back, breathy voice to sing it, with pauses. It turns out that this method was exactly what this song needed. It was
recorded from a few remote locations. The guitar started out in Las Vegas, while the drum track was laid down in Milwaukee. Once the structure of the song was completed, Joe approached me to do the backing track of vocals for him. That's when some other
magical shit happened. We traveled to Hurricane, Utah and recorded the final cuts of this song with John Houston, at his studio. John is an accomplished musician and talented producer as well. John and I laid down the dual backing vocals, with no rehearsal, in
his studio, which is an old theater. I wish I had documented this day on video but I never thought of how fantastical this moment would become.
Make no mistake, this song is Joe Wilke, 100%. I am only a tiny puzzle piece of this fantastic masterpiece. It would soar without my help! I am simply
honored that Joe asked me to be on this track at all. Take a listen to this great song.
